We have researched and found some of the products we offer being sold by competitors, including online, at markups that range from 20 up to 300 percent more than ours. As one example, the Roughneck we sell for about $27 per dozen is offered by a WalMart distributor for $60. Our lower end gloves for about $11 per dozen are sold for $14 elsewhere. Our Floorhand gloves offered for a little over $15 are sold for $18 up to $23 elsewhere.  We are proud to know that we offer unbeatable prices, and not afraid to tell the world how we do it.

 

Our low prices are possible because of a three pronged price strategy. The components of this strategy are:

 

- Supply chain positioning;

 

- Minimal overhead; and

 

- Innovative solutions

 

Lets talk about each of these.

 

SUPPLY CHAIN POSITIONING

 

There are only a handful of true "Sources" in the USA, where by Sources we mean companies that either import and clear customs themselves, or that contract manufacturing facilities here in the USA. These sources generally will not sell to the end user, but instead sell in quantity to distributors who then sell again to smaller distributors and ultimately to end users. In each step of this process, there is a middleman and a markup resulting in higher cost.

 

We have painstakingly jumped through all the necessary hoops in order to become certified distributors for each of these original suppliers. This means that we cut out one, two, or more middlemen, and realize a considerable savings in the process. We have also contracted with manufacturing resources to produce gloves specifically for Gordo's to sell, thereby ensuring that we have the absolutely lowest price anywhere. Having started out with a cost advantage in that way, we then hold the line by the other two prongs of our low price strategy.

 

 

MINIMAL OVERHEAD

 

We take a number of steps to eliminate or reduce overhead costs. For example, rather than hold large quantities of inventory in expensive warehouses, we engage forward looking JIT (Just In Time) delivery strategies, so that those items we do stock are replenished just as they are running low. Have you priced real estate in the Permian Basin lately? While it may not be where it was a year or two ago, warehousing in large buildings and large lots is still a very expensive way to do business in the Permian Basin. And as in any business, that extra cost is passed on to the next person down the line in the form of higher prices. We use a combination of as-needed warehousing in the much more affordable El Paso area, along with JIT shipping, to minimize expenses and maximize your savings. Sure, there is a downside to this if you end up waiting a week or more for your gloves; but that's where Innovative Solutions (the third prong of our low cost strategy) comes into play.

 

 

INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS

 

For some customers, it is no problem to anticipate a need and order in advance. For others, the assurance of having product immediately available is desirable. We offer a no cost warehousing solution for our Permian Basin customers. Here is how it works.

 

After a customer has received their first order from us and is satisfied with it, they have the option to opt-in to free warehousing. To do this, the customer pays fifty percent of the cost of their next anticipated order as a non-refundable deposit. We then acquire the product that the customer typically uses, and store it in our Midland facility. When the customer is ready to take possession of their product, they pay the remaining fifty percent and it is delivered to them the same day. For example, if your company opted in for 150 pair of a particular glove and had us warehouse it, you could call us at anytime and we will bring the product to you immediately- typically that means 20 to 30 minutes, and almost always less than an hour. You pay the remaining fifty percent when we bring it to you.

 

This is just a brief overview of how we manage to provide the exact same gloves, from the exact same manufacturers, at a fraction of the cost that others are paying for them.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO SAVE EVEN MORE MONEY ON OUR PRODUCTS

 

 

Here are three things you can do to save even more money on your order:

1) Pay by money order, cash, or check.

 

Credit cards and PayPal cost us more to process. By avoiding these fees, we can pass savings on to you. Savings are 2.7 % of your order payment; for an order totalling $2,500, this works out to a discount of $68, just for avoiding PayPal or credit card payment. If you are in the Midland/ Odessa area, we will be happy to send a person by to pick up your payment so you do not have to mail it. Also, credit card and PayPal payments result in substantially slower delivery times.

 

 

2) Use the SMOQS

 

Meeting the Suggested Minimum Order Quantity for Savings (SMOQS) will result in an automatic discount of approximately $100 for each $1000 spent. The exact savings varies by model, and ranges from $50 to $140.  This is a reflection of savings in our shipping costs and we pass these savings on to you. If storage space is a problem, please ask about our free warehousing solution.

 

Here is an example of how the savings would work out:

If you purchased 100 dozen of the Floorhand glove, your cost would be $1,735, or $17.35 per dozen. If you placed an order for the SMOQS of 150 dozen, and paid by cash, money order, or check, rather than credit card or PayPal, then your cost would be $2,388 which is a cost of $15.92 per dozen. By doing this, you would save $1.43 on every dozen in your order, or an overall savings of $214.50 for 150 dozen gloves.

 

All of our products have a similar savings plan. The exact dollar amount varies, but what you see above is a good approximation of the kind of savings you can expect.
